About the Motion Picture Association (MPA)

The Motion Picture Association serves as the global voice and advocate of the international film, television and streaming industry. Our members are Walt Disney Studios Pictures, Netflix Studios, LLC, Paramount Pictures Corporation,  Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios, Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., Universal City Studios LLC, and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.

The EMEA office of the MPA, based in Brussels, was opened in 1995. Our principal activities include work on legislative and regulatory issues at European and national levels, development and implementation of content protection strategies and collaboration with other right holder groups to promote intellectual property rights and the interest of the audiovisual sector. Internship Outline and Function

The MPA EMEA policy team is offering a full-time internship for 6 months in Brussels. The intern will receive financial compensation. The selected candidate will work closely with the MPA EMEA Policy Department and support the team in different policy areas, such as copyright, artificial intelligence, audiovisual policies and digital issues, at the national and European level.

Specific Activities and Deliverables

  1. Monitor EU developments including key EU websites with a specific focus on copyright, audiovisual policies, artificial intelligence, platform regulation, sustainability and other areas important to the MPA members.

Requirements

  1. Policy or law degree with a demonstrated interest in European affairs and understanding of the EU decision-making Previous professional experience within an EU institution is a plus.
  2. Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office. Experience with SharePoint is a
  3. Professional fluency in English with excellent communication skills (both oral and written). Additional language(s) (in particular French and/or Spanish) is a plus.
  4. Attention to detail, politeness and ability to perform under pressure while respecting deadlines.
  5. Solid organizational skills, team player and can-do attitude, as well as willingness to take
  6. Understanding of digital regulation, media policy and copyright is a plus.
  7. Start date flexible (March – April 2025).
