The 14th Eurasia International Film Festival in Astana, Kazakhstan
The Motion Picture Association had the honor of attending the opening of the 14th Eurasia International Film Festival in Astana, Kazakhstan on 1 July 2018. MPA EMEA President Stan McCoy thanked Kazakhstan’s Minister of Culture and Sport, Arystanbek Muhamediuly, for welcoming the MPA to Astana.
“The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan clearly has a strong will to create the conditions for a thriving film and television industry,” McCoy said. “We are here to support and encourage that interest. It is good to see film and TV industries blooming far and wide, thanks in part to the industry’s embrace of the latest digital technologies.”
“With the emergence of a truly global film industry, and supported by the emergence of online viewing options and modern digital cinemas, there is now access to, and a growing demand for, stories from diverse places like the culturally vibrant nation of Kazakhstan,” McCoy added.
